At
the W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik, the sculptors work
with very fine, black, highly plastic clay material.
It is as soft as plasticine and supple, but retains
its solid, fantastic plastic qualities .
The
sculptor has the difficult task to form this lump of
clay into a figurine.
Of
course, a drawing of Maria Innocentia Hummel always
forms the basis for the clay model. The sculptor
has to pay attention to the harmonic overall picture
and the resemblance with the drawing. The later
size of figurine is now determined..
